90 Minutes with Phil Hodgkinson and Harry Gration

Huddersfield Town chairman Phil Hodgkinson spent 90 minutes in conversation with legendary BBC news anchor Harry Gration and specially invited guests of Core Facility Services at an exclusive event at Legends Café Bar last week.

Just seven weeks into the job – and facing plenty of challenges already – Phil’s genuine passion and honesty won praise from the HTAFC fans and partners in the room.

Phil answered questions from Harry about recent events on the pitch before the Look North presenter invited questions from the floor.

Core was delighted to welcome colleagues, clients and partners including Yorkshire Payments, Louise Woollard, Mandy Taylor from Topic UK, Dru Widdowson of Cornerstone Recruitment, Matt Burton from Educating Yorkshire, Jason McCartney, Katie Collinson from Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Richard Blackburn from Wilby and Sean Jarvis, Tracy Nelson, Jon Williams and Sam Horsman from HTAFC.

As most of the guests were local business people, they were keen to hear from Phil about his leadership style and plans for the future.

Phil spoke about his ambition, determination and the importance of “culture, attitude, philosophy and identity”.

Jason Taylor, commercial director for event hosts Core Facility Services, said: “Phil talked at great length about culture, right from academy level through to the first team dressing room and the back-office staff.

“What really came across on Friday was his determination to get the culture right and bring people in who fit that identity.

“As a business that values honesty and transparency, hearing Phil talk so frankly and with such a clear and positive vision for the future was inspiring and we felt this event really demonstrated why we are so proud to be part of the Huddersfield Hundred.”
