We are proud to have been named as one of the most caring companies in Britain.
We are listed in the Philanthropic 30 which names the Top 30 big-hearted SMEs in the country.
The listing highlights businesses that have “philanthropy laced throughout” rather than those that have introduced CSR as a box ticking exercise.
All 30 businesses are recognised for going to exceptional lengths to make a difference despite not having corporate-sized budgets.
Grant Cornwell, chief executive of Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, was one of the judges of the Philanthropic 30. He told award organiser Real Business magazine that he had been impressed by the innovative approaches to supporting good causes.
“It was also brilliant to see that so many of the companies who entered now see CSR as a core part of their business, and that are encouraging their staff to be more actively involved in supporting community projects to help improve the lives of people both locally and on an international basis,” he said.
Fellow judge Ellie Hale, associate at CAST (Centre for Acceleration of Social Technology), added:
“These 30 organisations are part of a very exciting trend that is only going to grow.”
Gareth Henderson said: “Everything we do to support charities and community groups is aimed at making a lasting and positive impact on the organisations we team up with and to have that work recognised on a national level is incredible.
“Our business plan clearly states that by achieving our growth objectives we will be able to increase our charitable giving as a consequence.
“We operate a grant-making charity established to support and assist individuals and families in crisis by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other social or economic disadvantage and we give a minimum of 12 per cent of our profits to good causes every year,” he added.
