For this project, Core’s IT team worked with Sanderson Weatherall and Preston City Council to plan and install network systems for the car parks for Animate, a new £45 million cutting edge cinema and leisure complex in Preston city centre.
The scope of the work included firewalls, network access points, data cabinets and Starlink backup internet for the car park payment systems.
Sanderson Weatherall is a longstanding client of Core Facility Services. Core has enjoyed a strong working relationship with Sanderson Weatherall for many years, supporting them with the utilities management of their property portfolios as well as providing strategic sustainability advice and services. Core also provides IT services for some of the residential and commercial properties within their portfolios.
How we helped
This project is an excellent example of Core’s strength and experience in collaborative working. Sanderson Weatherall is the agent for Preston City Council at this site and we had to liaise closely with stakeholders within the leisure complex for access, installation, testing and compliance. We also worked closely with Accept Cards, who provided the merchant account facilities for the car park payment systems.
The complex nature of this infrastructure project, with multiple facilities providers each with their own priorities and needs, meant excellent communication was key to its success.
We planned in multiple back-up systems to make sure that if any aspect fails, the integrity of the infrastructure as a whole will be unaffected.
