Core makes winning save for fellow HTAFC partner

Huddersfield Town partner Core Facility Services has helped fellow Huddersfield Hundred member Shepley Spring cut its energy costs by £100K, releasing capital for investment in future proofing its business.

Energy is one of the biggest overheads for the branded and own label bottled water producer, which supplies the retail, sports and convenience sectors.

Charles Smith of Shepley Spring said immediate savings had been made by changing supplier and taking a more proactive approach to energy purchasing.

Charles said: “As a business we are always looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact and Core has helped us gain a much better understanding of how we use energy across the business and where opportunities exist to reduce consumption.

“One of the things we are working together on is researching and implementing renewable energy options which will help us go even further towards achieving our sustainability goals.

“In the meantime, the savings we have already made will enable us to invest in innovation to keep pace with the changing needs and priorities of our customers,” he added.

Colette Watts of Core Facility Services said: “Strategic energy purchasing is one of the most effective ways to bring down an organisation’s energy budget, particularly for businesses in the manufacturing sector which have a big demand for power.

“We worked closely with the new supplier to make sure the changeover went smoothly and are now keeping Shepley Spring up to date with the latest market intelligence to inform their buying decisions and protect the business from unexpected costs associated with price fluctuations,” she added.

“We are always pleased when this kind of teamwork leads to significant savings for a client, particularly when it is for a fellow HTAFC partner and supporter.”
